Ancient and Medieval Church History

Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, has made several classes available for free online through their Worldwide Classroom.

Although Ancient and Medieval Church History is a college-level course, I believe it would be appropriate for a high school student studying this topic.

In order to listen to these free classes, you’ll need to register with Worldwide Classroom. After registering, you’ll be able to listen to all of these sessions on Mp3, as well as download written transcripts and study guides for each lecture.

Focus on the Family Adventures in Odyssey

Focus on the Family has made several episodes of Adventures in Odyssey available for free streaming or download.  Click the above link, which will take you to the Focus on the Family media page.  You’ll see a gray tool bar underneath the media player; click Sort By Shows.  Then look through the list going down the left hand side and click Adventures in Odyssey.  Select the audio you would like to hear.

I found several historical episodes, but their titles are being regularly changed and updated, so check their site regularly if you are an Adventures in Odyssey fan!

Now you can stream any chapter in the Bible in audio format, thanks to Bible Gateway. Choose to listen in either Real Audio or Flash Player, pick the version, book and chapter you want to hear and click “play audio”. Please note that you must have either Real Audio or Flash Player on your computer to hear the audio.

There are also foreign language audio Bible readings available in Spanish, Farsi, Arabic and Slovak.

Dangerous Journey video

Answers in Genesis has made the Dangerous Journey video available for free on their site.  Dangerous Journey is a children’s book based on Pilgrim’s Progress.  This video has a narrator reading the book, and shows images from the drawings in the book.

When you get to the Answers in Genesis site, page down and click “Dangerous Journey, part 1″. There are 9 parts to this video series, and you can access them all for free at the above link.  They won’t stream continuously, however.  After watching each section, you’ll need to click on the next section to view it.
